2015 Papal Visit in the Philippines

The Papal visit in the country has created waves of different reactions among the people. Some have lifted have lifted their eyebrows in skepticism. A lot became excited as this is the first time a lot will get to hear and see the pope in action.Hear a homily conducted by him and get to hear his thoughts.  Truth be told it really is a rare opportunity to listen to one of his outreach to the common masses. Especially from one of the most powerful leaders in current world.

Notice that I have not capitalized the P in pope. That is not a typographical error or an overlook from my end. That is how I see him. In my own honest opinion, The pope is the head of the religious order and a political figure. Yes, He is a holy man as he is also a priest of the highest order. But in the end he is still a man, A priest elected by fellow priests to be the head.

So since you are reading this, There would be ideas in your head that why I; a non secular almost being a non believer would write about the papal visit. Am I going to bash him and do as what other haters would do? or will I point out the inconvenience that his visit has brought upon us? Well, The answer to all your questions or fears are moot.

I have grown to respect the person for his actions in showing humility and compassion to the common masses. It's not everyday that you get to hear someone that is one of the most powerful people talking about social injustice nor be humble enough to rub elbows with the common folks. To be honest, He is a radical thinker, Pope Francis does not accept or just meekly follow tradition. He is always open or discussion and a runner for the human progress. His ideas of showing compassion and the church being more understanding is something that was lost in the midst of all the issues. Also he is continuing the legacy of St. John Paul II in promoting peace and harmony with all the religious sects and not alienating others that breeds war and intolerance.

If one does follow his career on the papalcy. You would know that he prefers to wear his old shoes than wear the red papal shoes that is customer that cost thousands of $$. and the pope mobile that is not enlcosed so that he can be nearer to flock. (That's us). and the best part for me was when he went back to Argentina his country. He asked his best friend and fellow priest a common priest not some high ranking to sit with him in the Pope Mobile. No frills no media hype just him and his best friend on the motorcade. Simplicity and humility itself.

Pope Francis Motorcade
I am respecting the man behind the authority and not the authority behind the man. As it is, the man is showing his views and his fight against social injustice and his plea to world leaders to be more honest, public serving, honorable and eliminate the social inequality. Pope's Francis speech is simple and always comes from the heart, His message is always reaching out to the masses how to equalized the great difference in social status among classes, His impassioned speech led him to speak in Spanish and Portugese his native tongue to uplift the hopes of the Yolanda victims.

Pope Francis in Tacloban
The Camera on the TV stations would show the pope's face and his body actions. You can see how he is with the people, How he is enjoying more in the midst of the people than to be in the power and rich people. He prefers to live simply and be concern with fellow man and nature.

Having his name change to Francis is also a message and a way of his life that he follows St.Francis of Assisi. A saint that lives in the most humble way and has only the things that he needs.

His visit here has a purpose of delivering his message of peace and love for fellowman and humility. that is the message, Which coincides to his admonition that not to give him importance but his message, Another reason he is here is for the victims of the Hurricane Haiyan,

we can't blame him for all the traffic or the inconvenience it caused for the past couple of days. It's a treat that the head of the Church would come. So us as Filipino's seeing this as an opportunity and a once in a lifetime experience we tend to go all out. We caused our own inconvenience. Since we like to see the pope and be part of this experience we made the traffic,  we made adjustments. So do not blame him nor bash him.

After this event has ended, one question remains and it will be message and challenge he left to all of us.  Can we live up to his plea to live simply and uphold the values he is fighting for ; can we follow his foot steps?? The answer is left to all of us on what we decide,

Id like to thank google for all the pics uploaded.. I have to borrow some of the pics as i do not have personal pics on this event, I just felt to write about the pope and his actions and how his actions affects millions of lives.
