Nido Discovery Center:Yes You Can! Gallery and Mommy Caravan

The Nido Science Discovery Center with SM Management has launched a better hangout for kids. These vision is shared both by two big companies which aims to promote an educational yet fun filled place for kids.

For those who have been there before, There has been a lot of renovations and innovations for a new and improve discovery center, Now The discovery center is the country's first interactive science Center for kids, technologically set to help kids reach their potential. There is the new planetarium with the most advanced theater system in the country ever installed.

The center not only offers a place for kids to learn but also provides parents tips and techniques in rearing children to be healthy and well rounded. The program has been dubbed as Yes You Can! Gallery and Mommy Caravan.

They Also offer booths where kids learn new ideas and try on experiments and have new activities.
The Show was hosted by a celebrity and the afternoon was filled with activities for the kids. There's a magic act and some pointers for parents and mommies on how to spend time with the KIds. This place is a must see for a the whole family. Its a great way to spend the weekend or summer together,

Zendee I Believe

I just attended Zendee's Presscon for her Debut Album"Zendee I Believe" earlier today  which was held at Chef And Brewer in Ortigas. The place  has a cozy atmosphere where one can just relax and enjoy the food while listening to the band.

Who is Zendee you might ask. For people who goes watches youtube; you would be quite familiar on the tagging " random girl at mall singing". Familiar? Well, that lady with a great voice that has caught peoples attention and a video blogger that has made millions of views in youtube is no other than Zendee.

Yes folks, This sweet and bubbly girl now has launch her own album. And I must honestly say it has been a long way from the girl who sings at the mall for practice to the singer she is today. She has made several guestings on the local tv shows and made regular appearances on Sunday noon time shows.

For those of us who is not familiar with Zendee or just heard her name recently. Here is a brief overview of her roots. Zendee Rose Japitana Tenerefe or Zendee for short is born in General Santos City June 21, 1991. This lass from the south has begun singing at the age of six sending her recordings to her mom overseas. She believes that through singing she can help her family and thats where Zendee started joining singing competitions both local and national, She has entered even the natonwide talent search but did not make the final cut. Not losing hope, She has persevered in her dream and all this time she  and her mom would sleep at fire station at night and practice at videoke display stands at mall during the day.

In a certain twist of fate, This lass who was only practicing caught the public's attention and the video blogger who posted the video which Zendee was singing " And I am Telling you" by  Jennifer Holiday. Which went viral and caught the attention of Warner Music Philippines which offered her a recording contract. The Ellen DeGeneres Shook notice of her  and with the help of Warner Music flew her to Los Angeles for the taping. And the rest my friends is history.

During the presscon Zendee entertained us with songs from her album and one can feel her passion pouring out through her songs. You can see that not only does she enjoys singing but she enjoys entertaining her listeners as well. Zendee would make sure that each song and performance she does would connect to the audience.  Zendee's answer to the questions were witty and charming, I personally could see the enthusiasm and bubbliness of this lass who can go farther than anybody would expect. Yet with all this success she still is down to earth. Zendee has not forgotten her past and with her experiences made her what she is today and improves on her talent daily.

As for her album. The songs are simply great. The songs are enhanced through her vocal prowess giving it a deeper impact to the listeners. That would make you listen for more. Words are insufficient to describe the outcome of the combination of her voice and choice songs.

What's next for Zendee? Well, She is one of the guest performers for Jason Mraz Concert here in the country on May 14. Also Zendee is making guestings on several shows besides making videos for album,.

Comedy night at Solaire

My bestfriend dragged me to an event in Solaire for a comedy night. Since i haven't been to the newest Casino resort my curiosity got the best of me. I agree to accompany her to see the place and to know how different it is from the other casino resort.

Well, It is not as accessible since you have to get to Solaire via Taxi or a shuttle from designated shuttle stops. On the other side of things. One who has money to spend in a casino would definitely have means of going there possibly with their own car or service.

So there we are going to Solaire at 3 in the afternoon feeling the heat of the day. and what do we see when we got there? Grandiosism (if there is such a word, if there is none: pardon my french). Great faced, great set up. Love how they set up the casino area.

From there we were met by the staff which assistaed us to the place where we gathered and waited for other people included on the Event. It was fun and it's my first time to join such a group and that is one amazing group. People are friendly passing tips to each other and sharing one another's experience. as if they know each other for a long time.

The afternoon was great we had tons of laughter and loads of fun. They had great entertainers who know how to tickle everyone's funny bones. Did I mention we played games as well? Well i didn't but a lot of them joined. You get carried by the enthusiasm of the group  and the interaction. The interaction is pretty dynamic and you could not avoid just being a bystander. You do want to get into the action even just by answering some questions. We had tons of laughter wand we are just  Laughing the night away. Food served was good having the breaded mozarella and grape salad for lack of a better term. Service was also great and very professional.

The room where we had waited has a great view the looking towards the sea. Pretty romantic actually and if you had the cash to spend i would suggest you spend a weekend there with that special someone. The view is AMAZING!!!. I mean when you wake up at sunrise and the curtains are drawn,. You get this spectacular view of the sea.

The room was great , there is a living room area and kitchen. Just the looks of the place deifinitely would tell you that it is quite expensive.but definitely worth the cost.

After the event we are allowed to roam the place and take shots on the buffet table and surroundings but of course not on the casino area. what do i find on these areas? There is an Ice dragon sculpture a very nice ic e dragon sculpture. ( i am a dragon fanatic). and the buffet table offers a sumptous meal. beyond that the decors and fountains do match the background motiff and blend in the surroundings, if does not notice the casino part which would be so hard to miss. I would say it gives you a very peaceful surrounding and would not notice the casino area.

Filipino Figure Ice Skater.. Amazing!!

Isn't it great to know that in a country that does not have any snow; there is a figure ice skating professional who has won several times in the figure ice skating competitions. That person is barely out of his teens and yet he has a ranking within top 20 in the world ranking.   Yes Folks, This is no other than Michael Martinez. A 16 year old kid who has won many competitions in the figure skating division than most of us would win in a raffle promo.

Take this; he has won 7th place in the 1st Winter Youth  Olympics in the Male division, 1st place in the competition held in Brasov Romania among the other awards he had won. And now he is I believed to be a pure Filipino who has entered the ranks of Figure ice Skating which normally a country who sees or snows every year would dominate. Call me a caveman  but this is amazing. Here we are a country whose main sport is basketball and aaheem football and if we ever get a shot at the international scene. Chances of bagging a title  is pretty slim. Yet Here is a kid who is winning international compatetions bringing pride and honor to the country and makes other figure skaters run for their money.

Surprisingly Michael Started when he was already 8 years old which is a bit too late if one is vying to be a professinal where training starts as early as 3 or 4 years old. Yet he has proven time and again that he has what it takes  to be in World Level and go for the top. Top performers in that field has also taken notice of him and has taken him under their wing.1995 Olympic gold medalist Illa Kulik is one of his coach. That is something to say. right?

All his hard work has not go unnoticed . Right now he has been sponsored by big companies to pursue that dream and continue representing the country in that field. Training for the Olympics or even just for any competition would be costly. and i for one am certain that this is one of the costly training just to prepare, equipments.training, travel expenses, that's just the basic and not including the miscellanious. Coach would charge you 100$ an hour just to train you. and training goes on for 12hrs. just do the math. Justthinking of the cost would drive anybody nuts.

Yet for all his achievements Michael is still donw to earth. A bit shy in the press. But when you get to talk to him with out the mic or cameras in front of him. One can feel his passin and enjoyment in the sport.

I ceratinly do hope that he can make it in the WInter Olympics. Would it not be great to have a pure Filipino who can represent the country in one of the hardest sports. I wonder... How many of these kids are out there who is bringing glory to our country that we haven't heard about. I woukd call them the future heroes and definitely unsung.

For those people who's non stop dedication to their field and continously bringing glory to make us to be proud to be Filipinos. I salute you.
