Great Hair Blow Out

Pollution  is a major concern right now . Not only it affects the environment; it also affects the social and our lifestyle as well. If polluting is a crime then all of us are suspects more so than others. What do we do? We use the three R's yes we reduce reuse and recycle. in order to help minimize the pollution and also prevent flooding in the Metro.

In this, Uniliver hair brands, Dove, Sunsilk, Vaseline and Clear are partnering with the biggest companies in the country for a grand celebration. The Great Hair Blow Out is Unilever’s way of rewarding and thanking their loyal customers who have made Unilever’s Shampoo brands leaders in its category.

What does that mean to us the consumers? Well for every purchase of Dove, Sunsilk, Vaseline and Clear shampoo bottles and sachets assures you of winning prizes. The prizes would include Smart prepaid load, which they can redeem at Cebuana Lhuillier outlets across the country, special discounts at National Bookstore and David’s Salon, and a free upsize at McDonald’s. Peanuts you would say but it gets better;  among the prizes to be won are 2 Ford Fiestas, 56 international and domestic Flights from Cebu Pacific, 25 Samsung tablets, 25 Samsung phones. Not too shabby huh?  Even if you don't get the big prize you still get smaller prizes just by buying your shampoo.

And it Gets Better.for the people who will be clamoring about the sachet and bottles that would add to the current plastic problem.  Well read further...

The Great Hair Blow Out  brings to life the companies commitment to environmental sustainability.Meaning that the companies are aware if the problem and have already made certain steps and as part of Unilever’s Sachet Recovery Program, this campaign targets to collect 18 million sachets. Yes that's right 18M, I hope that they could collect more. So what will the companies do to the sachet? Be at ease they will not recycle them as sachet again nor burn it which will add to the green house gas effect.  These will be converted into various sustainability programs such as converting these to cement pavers. These will then be donated to partner communities all over the Philippines to be used to construct pathways and pavements and other unique products such as bags and chairs.

Hollow blocks with sachet bits are stronger than your regular blocks i would say same as true for the for the concrete pave. they stick together and has more binding power. Also for bags and chairs since they are plastic they are stronger and can be re use again.. just like those handbags that ladies use in their apparel. An advance apology to the ladies who will be reading this. I am not a fashion expert and i don't really have any idea of your preference. If it helps the environment, It is functional it's good enough for me, :P

Looking at it this makes everybody a winner. Not only do the consumers get to use their brands, you get the chance to win certain prizes. The companies get the chance to return something back to the communities through the sachet,  lessens the environmental wastes. Communities are then given livelihood programs for the weaving and handbag making, As for concerete well for building possibly roads or what ever infrastructure what is needed. Less pollution since the plastics are not burned nor dumped in land fills. Its all a win win situation. Of course it requires participation from all of us.

The Great Hair Blow Out is from October 1 to December 30, 2013. To join, just buy any specially marked packs and peel back to reveal the prize.
